AMETEK is actively seeking Sales and Application Engineer to join our Hunter Springs team.

 

YOUR IMPACT

As the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products you will contribute to the growth of our organization by generating new business and ensuring the growth of existing accounts for Hunter Spring Products. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

  • Communicate with existing customers to maintain current and elicit new business through introducing prototypes, soliciting, and receiving feedback, exploring adjacent business opportunities.
  • Formulate sales strategy, with Sales and Marketing, to expand market for existing and new products/applications developed for customers

 

Engineering

  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, structuring of items, bills of material and routings.
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

 

Sales and Customer Support

  • Support sales process from inquiry to quotation and through product release. Provide timely product and technical information to Customer Service team and to existing and potential customers.
  • Estimate production times, labor requirements, and related costs to determine sales price for custom products.
  • Serves as technical product expert and primary account representative during customer site visits and design reviews.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical or electromechanical design. 
  • 3-D CAD software is required (preferably SolidWorks).
  • Experience with ERP software would be beneficial (preferably Oracle).
  • Experience in working with approval agencies (UL, Intertek, CSA) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, as well as exceptional organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Experience with engineering sales is preferred.
  • Familiarity with machining, fabricating, injection molding and assembly. 
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to interact effectively with management, engineering staff, floor personnel and cross-functional team members to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Intermittent travel may be required.
