About the Business Unit : Motec is a global leading manufacturer of mobile heavy duty camera solutions.
Headquartered in Hadamar-Steinbach, Germany, the company has annual sales of approximately €40 million and joins AMETEK as part of its Electronic Instruments Group (EIG) - a leader in advanced analytical, monitoring, testing, calibrating and display instruments with annualized sales of about $3 billion.  

 

We are looking for a Sales Engineer (m/f/d) to join our French team.
The candidate will ideally be located in, or 150 km around, Le Mans, France.


MISSION:
• Develop sales strategies and objectives with channel partners (OEM or distributors/installers) in the following fields of activity: commercial vehicles, construction machines, cranes, lift trucks (logistics/harbor), agricultural vehicles, sea boats, train and military applications
• Provide regular status updates on each channel partner’s performance along with updated revisions to sales and marketing strategies, territorial expansion, and other actions required to achieve and exceed projected growth targets.
• Update identified business opportunities to manage current project activity in the region, lead generation progress and provide a broader view of business opportunities for the company
• Maintain and report in a weekly report the opportunity funnel/forecast for the geographic region of responsibility and other larger projects that will significantly impact the business
• Visit, provide support and training to the channel partners on Motec’s products
• Attend local, regional or national industry trade shows, when deemed appropriate to assist the growth of territory business
• Work with Motec France Sales Manager to target customers to introduce new products and manage existing portfolio of products to grow Motec business
• Provide input to Product Marketing, Engineering and Operations teams to help direct the development of new products that reflect market trends and customers’ needs

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Double degree (ideally Master level) in engineering (ideally computer systems, electronics or mechatronics) and sales, or sales degree (ideally Master level) with successful experience in technical sales
• Minimum of 5 years of sales experience with technical products and/or solutions
• Proven professional field experience in at least one of the fields of activity described above
• Fluent in German (prerequisite) to be able to communicate daily with the German headquarter
• Good command of English
• Highly customer focused with customer service orientation
• Willingness and ability to travel about 30-35% in assigned region
• Strong written and oral communication skills. Charisma and flexibility to adapt to a great variety of interlocutors
• Proficiency in Office Suite, and used to working with ERP/CRM software in German language
• Ability to work independently
• Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
• Other duties as identified by sales management
• Technical training ensured by French team, and at the German headquarter
