Job Description: 

MISSION 

Reporting to the Financial Controller for France and the Netherlands, the Finance and Reporting Specialist for France and the Netherlands is a member of the finance function for these two countries.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES

Accounting under local standards:

  • Helping the Finance French team keep the accounts under French GAAP:
    • Monitoring and inputting customer receipts
    • Monitoring and entry of social security and tax debts
    • Monitoring and entering other calculated items (PIDR, 1% commission, deferred income, etc.)
  • Coordinate the bookkeeping under Dutch accounting standards by the local accounting firm;

Compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Participate in the accounting and tax compliance of companies within its scope;
  • Participate in the production of annual accounts and associated legal documents;
  • Participate on an ad hoc basis in the preparation of tax returns;
  • Occasionally helping to prepare other returns (e.g. educational reports, Banque de France and INSEE surveys, etc.);
  • Coordinating external audits (statutory and contractual);
  • Participating in other tax and social audits.

Reporting and internal control:

  • Preparing certain adjustments from local accounting systems and to Group accounting standards (US GAAP);
  • Enter the Group reporting into the consolidation system on a monthly basis;
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of certain monthly/quarterly/annual statements presented to the Group (orders and sales, trade receivables, cash flow forecasts, etc.);
  • Carrying out and documenting part of the internal control system in accordance with SOX standards;
  • Coordinate internal audits;
  • For the Netherlands: Draw up the budget for local central functions (general management, operations, finance, HR) and business units;
  • For France: Participating in the preparation of the budget for local central functions (general management, operations, finance, HR) and preparing budgets for certain business units.

Support for foreign business units :

  • Assisting the operational and financial departments of the foreign affairs units with local financial issues.

Development of the financial function:

  • Co-ordinate or participate in It and process development

Continuous improvement :

  • Take permanent and sustainable action to improve all processes within his/her area of responsibility, by eliminating malfunctions and non-value-added tasks;
  • Propose improvements for the processes in which he/she will participate.

Framing :

  • Supervise work-study finance students where appropriate

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in finance, management, accounting, auditing
  • 2-4 years' experience

 

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL KNOLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Carrying out complex financial tasks
  • Gather and respond to the financial information needs of the BUs and the Group
  • Fluent in French & English
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff
  • Knowledge of GAAP and US GAAP accounting systems
  • IT skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint
  • Proficiency in at least one ERP system
