AMETEK is looking for a strong Divisional Vice President and Business Segment Manager to lead the Specialty Metal Product Powder and Strip Business Segment. This position will be responsible for overall profit and loss for the Powder and Strip Business Segment. The Business Segment Manager will provide tactical and strategic guidance and be responsible for developing and implementing the Business Segment’s Strategic Plan with an emphasis on growth, operational excellence, and strong profitability.
This position reports to the Division Vice-President, Business Unit Manager of Specialty Metal Products. Direct reports to this position include the Plant Managers, Human Resources Manager, Customer Service Manager, Powder Regional Sales Manager, Controller, EHS Manager, Product Development Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Achieve a zero injury workplace
- Successfully deliver the Business Segment’s financial targets and operating plan, consistent with the AMETEK culture which emphasizes accountability and results. This includes revenue, profitability, and return on asset metrics as well as strategic growth objectives and operational metrics.
- Establish management philosophy and practice, with clear expectations and measurable goals that lead to predictable results.
• Manage day-to-day tactical and long-term strategic activities within the business.
• Recruitment, training and development, and performance management of direct reports.
• Responsible for effective communications and coordination with key stakeholders at all levels of the business.
• Improve performance by executing lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kanban, SIOP, 5S, and Kaizen while maintaining focus on Quality improvements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in metallurgy, materials science, mechanical engineering or other technical discipline is required. Master’s Degree or MBA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years progressive manufacturing management experience; minimum 5 years in a senior level role with direct P&L responsibility.
• Experience in the custom job shop metals manufacturing strongly preferred
• Proven written and verbal communication skills to provide effective and meaningful discussions and presentations at all levels of the organization
• Familiarity with the manufacturing of low volume, high mix [engineered] products.
