Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is a critical role in the AMETEKs Operations team, responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a combination of technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage employees and meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to established standard operating procedures and uphold health and safety protocols.
  • Supervise labor allocation to achieve production goals, evaluate employee performance, offer guidance, and resolve performance-related issues with strong leadership.
  • Strategize the optimal utilization of production resources, encompassing human capital, machinery, raw materials, data, and energy.
  • Enhance operational frameworks, including production processes and organizational strategies, by identifying and implementing refinements.
  • Analyze production and quality control metrics to identify and rectify issues efficiently.
  • Monitor and assess staff performance, initiating interventions for enhancement as necessary.
  • Foster effective collaboration among pertinent departments such as procurement, distribution, engineering, testing, and management.
  • Be a Lean Champion fostering be actively supporting and driving to implement change.

Minimum Qualifications:

3-5 years of production/manufacturing supervision, Lean, Six Sigma and 6S knowledge and experience is a must.  Previous technical experience a plus. 

Previous experience in union manufacturing environment a plus. 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 4-6 years of related work experience

Physical Requirements

Medium work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Stooping:  Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.  This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Crouching:  Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

Reaching:  Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing:  Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Fingering:  Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

Grasping:  Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Feeling:  Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

Hearing:  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.

Repetitive Motions:  Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Talking:  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio.
