Job Title: Director, Accounting

Summary:
The Director, Accounting will effectively partner with the Business Unit Controller and his/her staff to ensure orders, revenue, profit, and working capital goals are consistently met. In support of this goal, this individual must be a strong finance leader who can effectively perform financial planning and analysis, lead cost accounting functions as required, and ensure all necessary financial controls are in place and followed. Key elements include a hands-on approach, effective leadership and staff management ability and overall business/analytical acumen. Experience in manufacturing is strongly desired. The individual will be required to have experience working in a business where a working knowledge of cost accounting was applied. Prior accounting and management experience in a multi-site public entity with a P&L of preferably $50M+ is desirable. This position reports directly to the VP, Business Unit Controller for the EIP Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly, monthly & annual forecasts and help plants achieve them.
- Develop business relationships with the functional leadership team and act as finance partner.
- Drive monthly close & multi-site forecast process, ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are complete within corporate timelines.
- Working capital management
- Maintain and/or review general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Oversee accounting processes.
- Upload financials to the Corporate HFM system and reconcile trial balances to the consolidated reports.
- Work to improve effectiveness and compliance, including monthly/quarterly SOX testing and maintenance of the SOX database.
- Assist VP, and BU Controller in any assigned tasks.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

A career record of success in finance/accounting with continued increased responsibility is ideal.

Cost accounting experience is required.

Comprehensive experience with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or similar application is required.

Polished presentation skills to regularly share financial reports with BU and Division management.

The demonstrated ability to work productively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization.

Demonstrated proficiency with typical PC office applications such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Hyperion or similar experience preferred.
