Job Summary 

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Intern with experience in Electrical Product and Design. The individual will work with the product engineering team creating and testing designs. The individual will help to update the design and documentation on several products that will require learning about the design and use case of different analytical instruments including IR spectrometers, visible spectrometers, viscometers filter based analyzers and high precision magnetometers. The individual will play an important role in helping engineering to provide better designs and documentation to our manufacturing team. Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Working with other engineers to assist in the design and documentation of products by identifying requirements, develop plans, perform testing, collect data, analyze results, generate design outputs and reports.
  • Build prototypes board and test bench, interface with other engineers to design, assemble and test assemblies.
  • Audit, maintain and update current CAD library.
  • Audit old designs and ensure that they match current production parts.
  • Support production for solving electrical related manufacturing issues.
  • Manage laboratory resources and equipment.
  • The candidate should be a results-oriented team player who holds one's self accountable for performance, takes ownership, and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Undergraduate (Junior or Senior) or Graduate student in Electrical Engineering
  • Related electronic design experience beside school project is a plus
  • Proficient using laboratory tools (Oscilloscope, Multi-meter, etc.)
  • Proficient using electrical CAD tools (Altium tools preferred)
  • PCB rework skills including soldering/unsoldering (the surface mounted component experience is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience in microcontroller, CPLD and FPGA programming
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Able to work within a team-based environment.
  • Able to work on-site full time from July 2024 to December 2024.
