Director Finance/Site Controller
This is a unique opportunity to lead the finance function of a subsidiary of an S&P 500 global company. The Director of Finance/Site Controller for the MOCON U.S. business is a highly visible role with a defined career path to broader leadership roles. You will be responsible for all accounting activities and financial operations. As a member of the business leadership team, you will accurately measure and forecast operating performance related to KPIs, to ensure that the business achieves its objectives. The position reports to the Business Vice President of Finance and is based in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain effective internal control of all business unit operations and locations to ensure continued protection of its assets and an accurate reporting of its financial position.
- Provide management with monthly, quarterly and annual reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities in accordance with AMETEK’s reporting formats and requirements.
- Partner with sales and operations management to manage working capital by balancing inventory, accountants payable, and accounts receivable.
- Forecast business activity and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations in accordance with the Corporation’s reporting formats and requirements.
- Direct preparation of budgets by reviewing budget proposals; prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification
- Arrange audits of business unit financials, as well as internal and external audit requirements and US Sarbanes Oxley-404 (SOX) testing and compliance.
- Perform due diligence on potential acquisition targets. Develops models, business forecasts and trend analysis to support these opportunities, as needed.
- Represent the company externally, as necessary, to government agencies and auditors.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop department staff and conduct annual performance evaluation.
Requirements for consideration:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and CPA preferred
- 7+ years of previous experience in operational accounting leadership roles
- Understanding of commercial and operational accounting KPIs and impacts to the business
