The Depot Repair Technician is responsible for product repairs and provides service and assistance to customers throughout the product and repair process.     



  • Evaluates and performs work on repairs. After equipment is repaired, runs equipment through test lab to ensure equipment is operating as designed and to factory specifications.
  • Refers to test procedures such as types and cycles of tests, conditions under which tests are to be conducted and duration of tests.
  • Coordinates and participates in installing unit or system to be tested in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power sources and indicating instruments.
  • Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycle.
  • Monitors controls and instruments and records test data.
  • Makes any minor adjustments required before final shipment.
  • Performs instrument calibrations.
  • Provides technical support.  Logs and creates all technical issues (cases) with the corresponding record in CRM tool.
  • Interfaces with customers to provide repair quotation, requests Purchase Orders, follows-up, provides status updates, and dispositions when required.
  • Issues Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) numbers for the return of product, product repair, and parts replacement for DCI, Deadweight, Quizix and PVT product lines.
  • Maintains proper transactions for parts removal from stock to the RMA when necessary.
  • Creates work orders for parts that are required to be sent for outside processing and ensure a timely RMA turnaround and provides follow up.  Works with Procurement to purchase parts or outside processing PO and follow up.
  • Ensures all information such as customer information, serial number, RMA#, items received, item(s) condition, reason(s) for return or repair, sales orders, proof of purchase, type of payment and quantity are documented in the corresponding record in the CRM system.
  • Coordinates availability of parts for shipping and communicate with both internal and external customers’ status of RMA’s.
  • Manages and produces weekly reports, including replacement unit backlog, turnaround times, RDSL, PDSL, overdue repairs, etc. and forward to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintains lead times, standard services, and standard repair times by instrument.
  • Maintains a record of Standard Operation Procedures for all repair types and the RMA process itself.
  • Maintains equipment in training room and on occasion may be asked to facilitate training courses.
  • Backs up Aftermarket Coordinator(s).
  • Other related duties as assigned.




  • High school diploma/GED is required, college degree (Certificate or Associates) in electronics, chemistry or other technical/scientific discipline is preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ related experience or equivalent training is required. Equivalent military training will be considered.
  • Must be capable of troubleshooting analog, digital, microprocessor electronics, and vacuum systems.
  • Familiar with the use of required test equipment including test rigs, calibration equipment, DVM, Oscilloscope, soldering iron and associated wiring/mechanical tools.
  • Capable of handling tolls and material as heavy as 75 pounds.
  • Must be capable of performing job duties outdoors requiring exposure to weather conditions.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop strong, positive working relationships with all members of the team, both internal and external to the company.
  • Prior experience working with ERP systems such as Microsoft NAV is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel.
  • Prior experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic chemistry, is a plus
  • Aptitude for providing professional and personable responses to customer requests.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime
  • Ability to travel 15%-20% of the time. Infrequent travel may be required for training or field service purposes.
