FUNCTION:
Manufacturing Engineer with background in electronic assembly, process engineering and test equipment development. General duties would include developing processes and process documentation to be used in the assembly and test of electro-mechanical assemblies. Additional responsibilities would include the development of test equipment and test procedures, training test operators, troubleshooting product, supporting new product integration activities, and acting as the technical interface between other functional groups and other AMETEK sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mechanical and Electrical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment and products.
- Support new product development and develop processes, tooling and test equipment needed to provide a quality product from inception to completion.
- Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and electro-mechanical instruments.
- Develop operating procedures, provide operator training, troubleshoot and repair test equipment, review safety requirements.
- Support new product development activities by working with the Design Engineering team to develop and implement test strategies and equipment.
- Act as the technical liaison between sites and other technical personnel.
- Work with Quality, Production and Service Center management to resolve quality issues.
- Initiate improvement ideas and see through to implementation.
- Partner with Engineering, Sales and Production teams to deliver results.
- Any other work as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial) or related field.
Travel
Minimal domestic and international travel required (1-2 trips per year)
Experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in a technical Manufacturing/Engineering environment
- Thorough understanding of analog and digital electronics, with the ability to read, interpret and understand electrical schematics
- Ability to read, interpret and understand mechanical drawings
- Familiar with both electronic instruments (DMM, Oscope, Func Gen) and mechanical tools (Torque driver, solder iron, various hands tools)
- Prior experience working in the Aerospace & Defense industry is a plus
Qualifications
- Experience identifying, justifying, building, qualifying and implementing new equipment into a production environment
- Experience programming automated equipment is a plus
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and communication skills (both written and verbal) with attention to detail.
- Experience developing visual work instructions.
- Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
- Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, both internally and externally.
- Must be self-directed and be able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
