Job Description: 

As the Senior Manager of Health and Welfare Benefits you will be responsible for the management of all operational, regulatory compliance and administrative aspects of AMETEK’s U.S.-based employee health and welfare benefit programs.  In support of the overall Health and Welfare and Wellness Plans you will manage outside service provider relationships.  



  • Design and oversee administrative systems, processes, and procedures for efficient management of AMETEK’s U.S.-based benefit programs.
  • Manage annual Open Enrollment, the integration of acquisitions, organizational changes, and pay group modifications within the benefits operation.
  • Manage outsourced vendor relationships to ensure quality of service delivery in overall benefit administration.  
  • Manage benefit enrollment and changes, participant communication, and billing processes, for all US health and welfare benefit programs.
  • Develop and deliver benefit annual open enrollment and orientation programs and materials for employees. Manages program communication and ensures regulatory compliance, consistency, appropriateness, and accuracy.
  • Responsible for ERISA regulatory filings and reporting. 
  • Provide direction and assistance to internal customers regarding eligibility, claims, qualifying events, network limitations and other benefits issues as they arise. Maintain working knowledge of relevant plan design elements, requirements, and considerations relating to eligibility and enrollment. 
  • Provide analysis, reporting, and census data as needed
  • Assist in the development and management of the HR budget and forecast for the benefits group



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years in HR benefits and operations with a large organization; at least 5 of which are in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of ERISA legislation, benefit strategy development, Form 5500 reporting
  • Relevant professional certifications desirable [e.g. Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)]
  • Prior experience managing offshore benefits administration staff preferred
  • Strong systems skills (e.g. ADP Enterprise, BenefitFocus, Microsoft Office)
  • Project management and multi-tasking ability
  • Strong change management skills; leadership presence and ability to maintain an operational focus while building against long-range plans.  
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with functional heads of other departments at corporate and in the field.
