For our AMETEK CTS business unit, we are looking for a Business Manager (m / f / d) at our location in Berlin (Germany).

Key Responsibilities of the Business Manager (m / f / d) include:


  • Drive Safety culture to the next level together with functional leaders. Ensure implementation and evolution of safety protocols, ensuring that Health & Safety and Environmental guidelines are followed
  • Manage the operations process and influence all relevant support functions to achieve order fulfillment expectations and operational targets
  • Ensure that Service and Support functions are delivered in a timely manner and in accordance with global service processes
  • Ensure that New Product Development is carried out in accordance with CTS processes, on time and to budget
  • Ensure close co-operation between Operations, Engineering and Service functions to meet the overall objectives of the business
  • Responsible for achievement of KPI’s related to revenue (including Service), new product development, on-time delivery, past due backlog, lead time, efficiency, resource utilization, overtime premium expense, PPV, net inventory, gross margin and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Generate current and forecast head count requirements plan together with functional leaders
  • Quantify current state product cost standards, and rectify product cost variances to target
  • Drive resolution for material availability issues
  • Inventory handling/management and inventory accuracy within the facility
  • Timely and thorough execution (within the scope of the plant) of Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s)
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process, lean methodologies and best practices
  • Optimize resource utilization by implementation of an effective production organization
  • Ensure coaching and development of resources to meet business’s objectives
  • Supervising and motivating a team of workers, reviewing the attendance and performance of subordinates and managing issues accordingly
  • Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations
  • Ensure prescribed preventive maintenance are completed thoroughly and timely


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant discipline within an Electronic Equipment environment
  • 5-7 years experience in production and site leadership at a management level
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Experience of working in an international environment (US company is a plus)


Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:

  • People Management and Leadership skills. Must exhibit the ability to bring multiple functions together as a cohesive operating business
  • Experience operating in a corporate environment
  • Comfortable with matrix management
  • Proven track record in managing production lines, service, supply chain and new product development
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
  • Ability to create and manage production budgets
  • Knowledge of supply chain including MRP and Master Scheduling skills
  • Proven ability as a change agent
  • German, English, and strong computer skills
