Job Title: VP Business Manager-Amptek

The Division Vice President Business Manager (VP/BM)-Amptek is an essential member of the Advanced Measurement Technology (AMT) leadership team. The Business Manager will have overall profit and loss responsibility for the Amptek business. He/she will manage and lead the strategic direction of the overall growth plan, leading to increased revenue and growth and long-term strategic position. The VP/BM will provide leadership and guidance for developing and implementing the Strategic Plan with an emphasis on AMETEK’s four growth strategies new product development, global and market expansion, and mergers and acquisitions and operational excellence. AMETEK is a result-driven company, and the VP/ BM is fully responsible and accountable for meeting Strategic and Annual commitments.
The VP/BM will oversee over all Amptek employees in the Bedford, MA, and Espoo, Finland operating sites, as well as global sales and service teams.
This position reports directly to the consolidated AMT Business Unit Vice President/Manager.
The VP/BM will be tasked with driving sales, profit, and operating objectives and improving the overall operational efficiency of the business.
Objectives include:

Make strategic recommendations to optimize revenue growth, improve working capital performance, and drive operating profit year over year

Drive double-digit revenue growth while growing and scaling profitability accordingly.

Realize significant operational improvements by:

Providing broad management & leadership to the organization

Driving OTD and quality improvements through lean tools and methodology (kaizen events)

Re-evaluating our sales channels and distribution network

Refreshing the strategic roadmap to ensure alignment with the customer needs and market trends

Maintain a laser focus on engineering execution to deliver product roadmap projects ahead of time and beyond expected quality expectations

Reduce working capital

Accurately forecast and predict business results and meet the operating plan commitments to the greater organization, adding more financial rigor.

Ensure the brand’s global finances are properly managed and reported.

Drive strategic development, market expansion and key relationships.

Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:

Previous full P&L experience for a product line/business unit

Strong leadership qualities, centering on operational efficiency, technical project management, organizational alignment, development of people and culture

Solid background in engineering and manufacturing operations, lean operating environments

Sense of innovation, particularly as related to new product development, with a working understanding of the product development process and how to improve the same

Job Requirements:

BS in Engineering or adjacent field of study; MBA preferred

Minimum of 10 years of experience leading a highly engineered product organization; experience with X-Ray Fluorescence technology and physics-based products a plus
