We are Telular – IoT for Tanks, Trucks, Alarm Systems, and other Industrial applications.

 

This is an outstanding growth opportunity.  The Security and Integrations Engineer will innovate, design, and develop cutting-edge products as a member of a fun and innovative team that makes a real difference by delivering products are used as part of daily operations. You will play a key role in defining and developing our IAM, security and integrations procedures for Telular’s IoT platform.

 

We are a business unit of AMETEK and a technology leader in IoT solutions for the commercial telematics, and security alarm and fire alarm markets, with SkyBitz and Telguard businesses. This position is offered as a remote position, but we have offices in Atlanta, Herndon Virginia, and Chicago.

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Design, architect, implement and support secure IAM functionality.
  • Implement various integrations with our customers that include securely sending data to them.
  • Understand and implement platform services based on functional, technical and user requirements.
  • Create, update, and maintain automated deployment pipeline.
  • Drive improvement of operational efficiency through automation and/or process changes.
  • Understanding of agile software development and DevOps best practices.
  • Consult with leadership and other engineers to set goals, plan projects, build timelines, stay within budget, and support organizational objectives.
  • Understand and demonstrate the use of agile methodologies and DevOps best practices across engineering.
  • Look for ways to automate our testing processes, both unit and system integration testing to improve our time to market.
  • Identify and recommend software tools and components that maximize the Engineering team’s effectiveness.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Practical application of Java.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing IAM solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing data integrations for external parties.
  • Experience and knowledge of selecting the correct technologies to leverage with regards to IAM, security and integrations,
  • Experience extracting data from internal systems and sending that data to outside parties in various formats to include XML, CSV and JSON,
  • Extensive knowledge of security technologies like SSO, WS02, federated identities, and OAuth,
  • Experience with object-oriented development (OOD) and service-oriented architectures (SOA).
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to own and deliver projects and results of increasing technical complexity. 
  • Demonstrable ability to analyze problems, diagnose root cause, and apply corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Other Beneficial Skills:

 

  • Experience is M2M/IIoT industry
  • Experience in B2C, and AWS Cognito.
  • Experience with IoT connectivity protocols like MQTT.
