Job Description & Requirements
Rauland is seeking a talented, results-oriented Electrical Design Engineer Lead to help design and development of our market leading products. We are seeking an experienced lead engineer with team management and technical skills. In this role you will be working on project teams designing analog audio, digital audio, and microprocessor-based designs. Interested in growing a wealth of experience in testing and working thru all stages of the product development life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a design team to integrate electrical, firmware and mechanical sub-systems in the medical and education space.
- Designs audio, power supply circuitry and processor-based solutions that meet the desired performance, cost, and time-to-market requirements of the product being developed.
- Works closely with hardware engineers to seamlessly integrate circuit blocks on complex designs.
- Works closely with firmware engineers to integrate low level driver code during development.
- Works closely with Mechanical, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout, Quality, Marketing, and other members of a cross-functional team to help satisfy the requirements of the overall design.
- Provides supporting design documentation, including design specifications, experimental results, design options, tradeoffs, and reasoning for the final design choice.
- Performs testing on the product being developed, which may include audio, ESD, environmental and other applicable testing of prototypes.
Educational Qualification: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
Skills Required:
- At least 7+ years development experience in electrical design and development
- 3+ years of hands-on execution-oriented technical management experience.
- Development of microcontroller-based products
- Development of products with analog and digital audio
- Development of low level firmware to control hardware and execute design verification
- Experience with DSPs a plus
- Experience designing products with regulatory requirements (e.g. UL, FDA)
- Understanding of mechanical drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Soldering skills a plus
