We have an immediate opening for a “Architect - Firmware Engineer”.
As a part of team within organization, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary engineering group focusing on next generation new product development and design.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, document, develop, and test embedded firmware for NPD products and support sustenance products
- Firmware development on a Linux platform
- Setting up custom build environments
- Work closely with Hardware/FPGA engineers for end-to-end integration and debugging of products
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, unit tests, function tests, integration tests, and software process development activities
- Participate in a compliance driven culture within the engineering team
Qualifications:
- Minimum BE in Computer Science or Electronics / Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering education with 12+ years’ experience in firmware design.
- Strong knowledge of C, C++, Advanced Python.
- Strong knowledge of processors like PowerPC, FPGA based soft processors (Microblaze), x86 and ARM based microcontrollers.
- Exp. in Linux device driver/BSP, Xilinx BSP/SDK and application development in YOCTO/Buildroot environment and userland (application) programs
- Deep knowledge of system software, and kernel architecture
- Hands-on experience with protocols like Ethernet, USB, PCIe, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
- Experience in Test & Measurement products (Data acquisition & control systems)
- Familiarity with code versioning tools, like Git, SVN.
- Added advantage on having knowledge on REST API’s and Web Server Software.
- Recent hands-on experience in a hardware / software co-design environment.
- Experience using in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and background debug monitors.
- Trained in structured software design, documentation, coding standards and source code / configuration management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
